Can you believe it’s already that time of year again? Year after year we can hear ourselves say, ‘this year I’ll do something different’ but alas we always run out of time. So this year, we (the Botanica team) have decided it’s time grab the bull by the horns and encourage each other to pull out all the stops (well that’s the plan anyway) for our boyfriends/husbands/man-friends – because it doesn’t always have to be about us. Here are a few of our ideas:
1. KING OF THE CASTLE
Unfortunately roses and chocolates just don't have the same effect on men so we have to try that little bit harder. Most men love feeling like a king and Valentine's Day is the perfect time to spoil your man. Hand him the remote, fill up his beer glass and make him his favourite meal.
2. BOYS NIGHT OUT
We know they love it. So let them have it. In fact, encourage it. Send your partner and his friends to their favourite sports game or pick up the tab at their next pub night. If his friends didn’t already love you, they will now!
3. TAME THAT BEARD
If your partner was born after the 1980s chances are he has a beard, is growing one or would love to have one. So spoil him with the latest beard grooming paraphernalia; you’ll love his silky smooth skin too!
4. LET THE GAMES BEGIN
Take him back to his childhood. Find out what his favourite toys and games were as kid and bring them back to life – think Super Nintendo, electric cars, marbles, the list goes on…
5. GOOD OLD FASHION ROMANCE
Take him to his favourite restaurant, buy a bottle of his favourite wine and wear his favourite dress. It might be simple, but classic romance always wins out!
